Correlation Between Covid-19 and Public Transportation in Saint Louis City
Data Visualization and a Video Programmed with Python
Fall 2020Saint Louis, United States
Post-COVID,
checking the number of positive cases of COVID-19 has been people’s daily
routine. One of the reasons people check COVID-19 positive case rates every day
is that the number of cases does not seem to decrease, but rather gradually
increases. While researching about the causes of the increase in positive case
rates, I found an interesting correlation between the public transportation and
COVID-19. The areas with high numbers of public transportation stations also
had high positive case rates. After creating this data visualization, I
collected more data from the official government website statistics, and I
found out that the areas (by streets) with high positive case rates were near
public transportation stations.
