Vision of the Future
Interactive Installation_(Unity Engine)
August - October, 2022
Making an analogy with an article from The National Center for Biotechnology Information, I tried to create an experience of the evolution and degeneration of the past, present, and future perspectives in one space. In this installation work, the viewer can see a vertical screen installed in the middle of the exhibition space when entering, along with two canvases of printed images hanging on the wall. On the vertical screen, an image that is the same as the images on the wall is broadcasted, but it is pixelated and barely visible. As the viewer gets closer to the screen, the details of the pixelated picture come to life and change to the same quality as the original image. The viewer can only see the image in good quality when they stand close to the screen, but they are still physically far from the actual image—giving the feeling that it cannot be reached, it is impossible to get close to.
This interactive installation art shows that the evolutionary process of future human beings can vary greatly depending on their location and class.
